Ponnala dares KCR not to seek votes for failing to keep promises

Hyderabad: Congress leader and former minister Ponnala Laxmaiah today said the people would teach a fitting lesson to caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in the ensuing elections. KCR, who had declared that he would not ask for votes till he provide drinking water supply to every household, should seek votes only after fulfilling his promise, he said. He also pointed out that the double bedroom houses were at foundation level only.

Earlier, Ponnala Laxmaiah flagged off ‘Allulla Yatra’ of Congress party activists at Bachchannapet to Pragathi Bhavan. Speaking on the occasion, Ponnala said they have taken up the Yatra protesting the KCR’s attitude of cheating while assuring double bed room houses to every poor. But the police obstructed the yatra at Alair stating that the Yatra has no permission.

The police said the election code was on and hence they obstructed the Yatra and arrested the Congress party activists. Ridiculing the police action, Ponnala said they have permission for the Yatra and the arrests were unwarranted.
