Hyderabad: Expressing anger at the increase of petrol and diesel prices, Telangana Congress leaders—Ponnam Prabhakar and Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy have ridiculed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that the latter’s remarks on decreasing rupee value was like showing star ‘Arundathi’.
Speaking to the media at Assembly Media Point here on Tuesday, Ponnam reminded former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s statement that this situation will be arose with the demonetisation of big notes. He questioned Modi, who found fault with Manmohan Singh then, to tell as to what he will say now the issue.
Ponnam asked Chief Minister KCR as to why he was not questioning Modi on increasing inflation and petro prices. Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy demanded that the State government scrap VAT on petrol and diesel. He also demanded that the Centre bring petrol and diesel under GST purview. He said the Congress party will prepare special action plan to protest the increasing petro prices.
