Ponnam slams PM on ‘Vote-on-Account Budget

Hyderabad: TPCC working president Ponnam Prabhakar today launched a scathing attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi after presentation of Vote-on-Account budget by Union minister Piyush Goyal. He alleged that Narendra Modi has announced certain sops in the budget with the sole intention of grabbing their votes in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing the media here today, Ponnam wanted to know from the Prime Minister as to why he didn’t think of the welfare of the people of the State during his last four-and-a-half-year rule. He said the prices of petrol and diesel had shot up under Modi’s rule despite a steep drop in crude oil prices. He said the people of the country had suffered a lot due to the spiraling oil prices. He said the people in the entire country also suffered due to GST. He said the people would teach a befitting lesson to Prime Minister Modi and his government in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
BJP, TRS are secret friends

Referring to remarks of TRS MP Kavitha and working president KTR that the Modi government has copied KCR’s Rythu Bandhu scheme, Ponnam ridiculed the TRS leaders for claiming credit for any scheme introduced in the country. Their comments on Central Rythu Bandhu scheme clearly reveal that the TRS was trying to befriend the BJP, he said, adding that the TRS MPs remained mum in Parliament on the Telangana issues because of a secret pact between the TRS and the BJP.
AICC Kisan Cell vice-president Kodanda Reddy said Prime Minister Narendra Modi suddenly showered love for farmers and announced financial assistance due to the ensuing Lok Sabha elections while he ignored them for the past four-and-a-half years. He also pointed out that edible oil, sugar and pulses were being imported after Modi took over as Prime Minister and pushed the agriculture sector into crisis and ruined it. He also dubbed the Centre’s crop insurance scheme as a big scam.
