HYDERABAD: A youth in his early 20s suffered serious head injuries after his crazy video for a ‘perfect’ selfie alongside the railway tracks went wrong.
The incident happened on 21 January near the Bharatnagar railway station in Hyderabad.
In the disturbing video clip which went viral on social media, the boy, identified as Shiva alias Subhash, can be seen smiling at his smartphone camera near the railway track as an MMTS or Multi-Modal Transport System train approaches in the background.
Despite warning by his friends of possible danger, he is determined to click a stupid selfie video and was hit by train heading towards Lingampally receiving serious head injuries.
Shiva is undergoing a medical treatment in one private hospital is now said to be stable whereas Railway Protection Force (RPF) registered a case under 147 of the Indian Railways Act (trespassing) against him.
Earlier, an undated video has surfaced on social media showing a death-defying stunt by a Kashmiri man, in which he lies on a railway track while a speeding train passes over him.

The unfortunate selfie-obsessed incident caused many deaths in India prompting calls for strict action to prevent it from becoming a trend.
