Pranab’s daughter Sharmistha warns him of repercussions of attending RSS event

New Delhi: Former President Pranab Mukherjee has arrived in Nagpur to attend Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) event today even when his decision invited criticism from other leaders including his own daughter.

Pranab’s daughter Sharmista took to Twitter to warn her father of the repercussions of attending the event reminding him this act would give the RSS and BJP party an opportunity to promote false propaganda, NewsNation reported.

“Hope @CitiznMukherjee now realizes from today’s incident, how BJP dirty tricks department operates. Even RSS wouldn’t believe that you are going to endorse its views in your speech. But the speech will be forgotten, visuals will remain and those will be circulated with fake statements,” Sharmistha tweeted.

“By going to Nagpur, your are giving BJP/RSS full handle to plant false stories, spread falls rumours as today and making it somewhat believable. And this is just the beginning!” she had added in another tweet.

Sharmistha who is also a president of Delhi Mahila Congress cleared the air of her quitting Congress and probably joining BJP party.

Reacting to the rumours she said she would rather quit politics than join the saffron party.

“In the mountains enjoying a beautiful sunset and suddenly this news that I’m supposedly joining BJP hits like a torpedo! Can’t there be some peace and sanity in this world? I joined politics because I believe in Congress. I would rather quit politics than leaving the Congress,” she said in a tweet.

In today’s event, the former president will soon deliver the valedictory address to 800 RSS workers who will now become full time ‘pracharaks’ to further carry on the organization’s agenda for the rest of their lives.
