President Trump has made a record of false claims: Washington Post

Washington: US president Donald Trump has made a record of telling 5000 false claims since he became the president. An article published in US newspaper Washington Post has left everyone in a flutter. According to article 601 days have passed since Trump came to power; during the period he made 5000 lies which comes to an average of 8.3 Trumpian claims a day. It further stated ‘but in the past nine days — since our last update — the president has averaged 32 claims a day.’

The article claimed Trump’s 5,000th claim was a tweet about the investigation led by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III: “Russian ‘collusion’ was just an excuse by the Democrats for having lost the Election!”

President’s 5,001st claim was another tweet: He claimed that the administration “did an unappreciated great job” dealing with Hurricane Maria when it struck Puerto Rico in 2017.

According to US newspaper Trump made maximum lies on September 7. On that particular day, he publicly made 125 false or misleading statements in a period of about 120 minutes. The day before, the president made 74 false or misleading claims.
