Prince Harry gushes about Archie during hospital visit

Washington: Prince Harry’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, is always on his father’s mind, even when the Duke of Sussex is busy with his royal engagements.

Harry proved how much he misses his newborn when he visited the Oxford Children’s Hospital on Tuesday, reported E! News.

During the trip, The Duke of Sussex met the parents of children who have been battling cancer. One of these parents included Ida Scullard from Aylesbury, whose 3-year-old son, Emmett, is in remission after being diagnosed with testicular cancer at the age of 2.

She was also holding her 10-week-old daughter Ida and started speaking to Harry about his baby boy.
“Harry asked me if she was over the stormy period as babies are supposed to be grumpy for the first 10 weeks–and she is,” the mother said.

“He said he’s getting used to the baby now and how Archie has fitted into family life. He said he just feels part of the family and he can’t imagine life without his son,” she added.

Like all the new parents, Harry too hinted that he is getting less sleep since welcoming his baby boy. The first-time father told another patient that Archie kept him up the night before.

These weren’t the only times the proud father gushed about his newborn. The Duke also received a teddy bear for Archie from 13-year-old Daisy Wingrove, a former patient of the hospital. After receiving the gift, Harry let out a big sigh and “Ahhh.”

In addition, he visited the teenagers in a ward specifically tailored according to the needs of the young adults and spoke with the members of the hospital’s staff. He also visited the hospital’s school to meet students and their teachers.

Before leaving, Harry stopped by the Oxsrad Disability Sports and Leisure Centre, which was opened by his mother, the late Princess Diana, in 1989. The centre works towards supporting people with disabilities and offers sports, exercise, rehabilitation sessions and fitness classes.

This was the second royal visit Harry has made since welcoming the little bundle of joy. Last week, he travelled to The Hague to celebrate the one-year countdown to the 2020 Invictus Games.

Meghan Markle gave birth to her and Harry’s first child, on May 6.

During a photo-call on Wednesday (May 8), Meghan and Harry introduced their newborn to the world. The royal couple later announced that they have named their son: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

The two introduced their child inside St George’s Hall at Windsor Castle, where they celebrated their wedding reception just a year ago.

“It’s magic, it’s pretty amazing. I have the two best guys in the world so I’m really happy,” Meghan said during the photo-call.
