Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to begin road campaign from Ayodhya

Faizabad: Congress general secretary for Uttar Pradesh East, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is set to embark on another political campaign from the historic city of Ayodhya.

She is scheduled to start her three-day long campaign from March 27 and will offer prayers at the famous Hanuman Garhi temple in Ayodhya, a source told ANI.

The Congress leader will board a bus customised in the form of a ‘rath’ and would cover Faizabad, Sultanpur, Amethi and Unnao parliamentary constituencies during the three-day long political campaign on roads.

According to sources, between March 27 to March 29 she will be stopping at 32 points from Faizabad to Amethi.

However, Congress has not made any official announcement of the program and the same can be tweaked at the last minute.

According to the current schedule, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will be boarding a train to reach Faizabad on March 27.

The official campaign will culminate in Unnao on March 29.

Since she started her political campaigns in the state, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has already visited two significant temple towns of Uttar Pradesh namely- Varanasi and Prayagraj. Now she is set to begin another campaign from the revered temple town of Ayodhya.

Earlier, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s three-day Ganga Yatra had culminated on Wednesday in Varanasi, the Lok Sabha seat of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In her first major political campaign since taking up the posit of Congress general secretary in the state, she had undertaken a 140-kilometre boat journey from Prayagraj to Varanasi.

The party has fielded former MP Nirmal Khatri from Faizabad and Annu Tandon from Unnao.

The SP-BSP-RLD alliance in the state has left two seats, Raebareli and Amethi, for Congress.

The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to be held in seven phases from April 11 to May 19. UP will vote in all the phases on April 11, 18, 23, 29 and May 6, 12 and 19. The counting of votes will take place on May 23.

There are 80 Lok Sabha seats at stake in UP.
