Pro-VC of University of Hyderabad clarify on allegation of “Muslims ban”

Hyderabad: After the reports of discrimination surfaced, University of Hyderabad came up with clarification.

According to the news published in TOI, Pro- Vice Chancellor of University of Hyderabad, Vipin Srivastava said, “The situation (on campus) was tense and somebody called the police fearing that the protesting students would barge into the VCs chamber.”

He also said that the security officer just asked MANUU student to reveal the purpose of his visit. He also claimed that MANUU student did not mentioned that he visited to deliver medicines. He further added that security officer suspected unusual activity when some Kerala students sought permission to enter campus.

Clarifying on the allegation of “Muslims ban” in campus, he said that there was no ban on visitors from a particular community. Mr. Srivastava said that security staff was only verifying facts to avoid nuisance on campus.

According to the report, Pro VC said, “I have instructed the registrar and the dean of students’ welfare to investigate the matter and submit a report within a week based on which appropriate action will be taken”.
