Proposals to open 1,000 Vijaya Dairy outlets: Talasani sore at poor sales

Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today expressed his displeasure at the poor sale of noted Vijaya Dairy products. He asked the officials to conduct a wide ranging publicity through various means, including hoardings, posters, RTC Buses, Metro Railway Stations, Television channels and others for increasing the sale of the Vijaya Dairy products.

The minister directed the officials to prepare proposals for setting up 1,000 new outlets in the city, set up an agency and recruit market personnel through campus interviews. Expressing concern over the complaints of non-availability of Vijaya Dairy products, he asked the officials to set up societies with milk supplying farmers and procure own vehicles.

The minister held a review meeting with the officials at Vijaya Dairy head office here along with State Dairy Development Corporation Chairman L Bhuma Reddy and Managing Director Nirmala and others. “The brand Vijaya Dairy products have more demand in other States also and efforts should be made to ensure that the sale was increased significantly. While the managements of private dairies increased their sales through regular publicity, the government dairy was lagging behind”, he fumed. There was no dearth of funds from the State government and the Centre was also giving funds under various schemes, he added.

Despite this, the Vijaya Dairy products are not being sold significantly, he deplored. Immediate focus is on to increase the sales by setting up outlets at tourist places, temples and national highways, the minister said, adding that Vijaya Dairy is most popular and stressed the need for developing it. The officials should focus on increasing the sales of Vijaya Diary products in coordination with the workers, he asked.

Srinivas Yadav also directed that Vijaya Dairy products should be supplied to all the government educational institutions and programs and directed the officials to set targets in districts to increase sales. He warned of severe action if the officials indulged in irregularities. (NSS)
