MEERUT: A poor Muslim father sought help of PM Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath after the never-ending harassment of his four madrasa-going daughters by the eve-teasers.
In a letter that went viral on social media, the helpless father alleged that her daughters aged 17, 16, 14 and 12 have been bullied and stalked for months by men in the neighbourhood.
The letter was written on Sunday a day after a group of men barged into his home and sexually abused the younger one. The culprits even threatened the girls with an acid attack.
“Even living at home has become difficult,” writes the father, saying he constantly fears for his daughters’ lives.
Because of the unending harassment, the girls have even stopped going to madrasas and are forced to stay indoors.
Speaking to news agency ANI, one of the girls said, “We stopped going to madrasas due to it (harassment). They barged into our house, threatened us of acid attack. Even living at home has become difficult.”
Confirming the same, police official Rajesh Kumar said, “We have received a complaint from a man who alleged that his four daughters are being harassed by few men in the neighbourhood. It is difficult for them to even get out of the house. Further investigation is underway.”
The father’s letter came soon after the global survey of the Thomson Reuters Foundation declared India as the most dangerous country for women in the world.
