Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan failed to pacify party workers who were protesting in front of his house, Bani Gala, demanding tickets to contest the election on June 25.
As reported by Geo News, Imran reiterated his statement that the party workers will be given tickets on basis of merit.
He further said he will not be forced to change his decision regarding tickets.
“If I change my decision today because of you, tomorrow more people will come here. I am not saying this because of me or my honesty. I am saying this because I fear Allah,” Imran said while addressing the protesters earlier in the day.
Another group of protestors, amounting to 1500 to 2000, emerged outside Imran’s residence once again.
The cricketer-turned-politician said he is mulling over the matter and asked the workers to have faith in him.
Later, local police had to intervene as the protestors tried to barge into Imran’s residence.
Two hours later, Imran came outside his residence and lauded protestors for their “commitment and passion.”
