Hyderabad: The Rachakonda SHE teams booked 51 cases and apprehended 51 eve-teasers, including 13 minors, in the last three weeks. All the eve-teasers, along with their family members, attended the counseling at the Commissioner’s Camp office, at Nagole, LB Nagar.
In one of the cases, a 19-year-old girl was harassed and raped by her schoolmates identified as Varikuppala Shiva Kumar, 22, an ITI student of Prasanthi hills, Meerpet, Balapur. The victim said the accused was stacking her for over two years and harassed her on phone demanding that she accept his love. When she was alone at home, the accused trespassed into her house and sexually assaulted her simultaneously taking her nude photographs. Later, he was blackmailing her stating that he will put her nude photos in the social media and would also kill her parents. The Meerpet police arrested and remanded him to judicial custody.
Held for impregnating sister’s friend
In another case, a cab driver Bandi Ram Manohar, 26, raped his sister’s friend after befriending her. The victim complained that the accused took her away from her hostel to Yadagirigutta and promised her to marry and threatened her that he would commit suicide if she refused to have sex with him. Later on, he blackmailed her with her nude photos and continued physical relationship and impregnated her. The Medipally police registered a case and sent him for judicial remand. (NSS)
