Hyderabad: VI Additional Metropolitan Secessions Judge Dr Srinivas Rao sentenced a paper picker Patthi Narsimha, 45, residing at Prakashnagar, Begumpet to life imprisonment and fined Rs 1,000. If the convict fails to pay fine, he should undergo another simple imprisonment of one month, the judge ruled.
According to Asst Commissioner of Police, Begumpet Division, on June 16, 2015, police patrolling van constable informed the police station that foul smell was emanating from an Indica car parked at the Registration office at Prakashnagar. Immediately a posse of police personnel rushed to the spot and found the car without number plate and smell of dead body was emanating from it.
During investigation, one Ghani told the police that one couple Narsimha and his wife Padma, both rag pickers, were residing under a tree. Ghani identified the body as Padma and suspected that Narsimha might have killed his wife. The Begumpet police registered a case of murder and arrested Narsimha on July 2, 2015 and sent him for judicial remand.
As the prosecution proved the guilt of the accused during trial, the judge convicted the accused and sentenced him to life imprisonment and to pay a fine of R 1,000.
