Rahul skips CWC meeting, down with viral fever

New Delhi: A meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) on the 75th anniversary of Quit India movement was held here with party vice president Rahul Gandhi skipping it as he is down with viral fever.

The meeting of the highest decision-making body of the grand old party discussed the contribution of the Congress in the movement.

The meeting was attended by top Congress leaders and was chaired by party chief Sonia Gandhi.

The Quit India movement was launched at the Bombay session of the All India Congress Committee by Mahatma Gandhi in August 1942, during World War II, demanding an end to British rule in India.
