Raja Singh organized a rally on Tuesday from Begum Bazaar Bhoolaxmi Temple to Hyderabad Collectorate demanding that the State government ban the film in the entire State. However, the police obstructed the rally mid-way and arrested Raja Singh along with his followers.

Speaking on the occasion, Raja Singh said the sentiments of Kshatriya community were hurt due to the distortion of the history of Queen Padmavathi, who was an icon of Kshatriya courage, culture and traditions. He demanded that the Chief Minister issue orders to stop screening the film.

It may be recalled that Rajputh Karni Sena activists and several BJP leaders warned the producers and made several statements opposing the release of the film. They threatened to harm the lives of director and actors of the film. As per schedule, the film is scheduled to be released on December 1 but the producers announced that the release date was postponed due to delay in Censor process.

Eminent Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bansali directed the film based on the life history of Rajput queen Maharani Padmini. Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor played key roles in the film. (NSS)
