Rajasthan bypolls trends indicate rejection of BJP: Congress

Jaipur : With the Congress party leading in both Alwar and Ajmer Lok Sabha constituencies in the Rajasthan bypolls, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress”>Congress Committee chief Sachin Pilot on Thursday said that the early trends are clearly indicating that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, led by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, has been rejected by the people.

Pilot told ANI, “Initial trends of Rajasthan ByPolls are a mandate against the Government; I hope our leads will increase even more. Vasundhara ji and her Government have been totally rejected by people.”

“I think we will have to wait for the final results but the under current, the sentiments, the desires of the people is for the Congress. These elections are reflective of the mood of people prevalent in Rajasthan,” he added.

The Congress” took an early lead in Ajmer and Alwar with 7585 votes and 30,595 votes respectively, when the copy was filed.

The Congress”candidate for the Ajmer constituency is Raghu Sharma while Sanwar Lal Jats is the BJP candidate. Ajmer Lok Sabha constituency saw a turnout of 65.33 percent.

Congress candidate for the Alwar constituency is Karan Singh Yadav, while Jaswant Singh Yadav is the BJP candidate. Alwar Lok Sabha constituency saw a turnout of 61.86 percent.

These seats went to polls on January 29.

Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress has won the Noapara Assembly constituency by a margin of 63,000 votes in West Bengal. (ANI)
