Jaipur: Urdu ghazal is still proud of Majrooh Sultanpuri, said Vice Chancellor Maulana Azad University Jodhpur and noted intellectual Padma Shree Prof. Akhtarul Wasey. He told this while inaugurating a 2-day seminar entitled, ‘Mash ’al Jaan ka shayar: Majrooh’ jointly organised by Urdu Academy Jaipur, Rajasthan and Department of Urdu and Persian Rajasthan University.
The seminar was also addressed by Prof Ali Ahmed Fatimi, S K Nizam, Rajasthan University Vice-Chancellor Prof Kothari, Prof Lalit K Panwar, Shameem Tariq and others who paid rich tributes to the famous poet. On the conclusion of the seminar on September 8, Shaam-e-ghazal was also organised.
