Rajnath Singh to inaugurate NIA headquarters in Delhi

New Delhi : Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the new headquarters office complex of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) at Delhi‘s Lodhi Road on Tuesday, October 10.

The home minister had laid the foundation stone for the headquarter building on September 10, 2015.

Ministers of State for Home Affairs, Hansraj Gangaram Ahir and Kiren Rijiju, will also be in attendance.

The office complex comprising an administration building with nine floors and two basements is built on a total area of 1,14,056 square feet.

The NIA was founded on December 31, 2008 under the NIA Act, 2008, with a mandate to investigate serious offences related to terrorist activities affecting the sovereignty, security and integrity of the country.

The agency has branches in Lucknow, Hyderabad, Kochi, Guwahati, Mumbai, Kolkata, Raipur and Jammu.

Additionally, the NIA camp offices are located in Chandigarh, Srinagar, Chennai, Bangalore, Vishakhapatnam, Ahmedabad, Bharuch, Jagdalpur, Patna, Siliguri, Malda, Ranchi, Vijaywada and Imphal. (ANI)
