Gurugram: An attempt by a rape accused to flee from police custody was foiled by police personnel here on Friday.
Accused Manoj had been taken to the Gurugram Civil Hospital after he complained of chest pain.
There, he threw chilli powder in the eyes of the policemen and tried to escape but the police personnel caught him.
According to officials, Manoj is facing trial and is a prisoner at the Gurugram district jail.
A resident of Rajendra Park in Gurugram, he was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act last year.
