Hyderabad: RBI is to launch soon a new Rs 20 note denomination in the country according to information. It will have some new features and will be released into the market in short notice. Already the RBI has put in circulation Rs 10, 50, 100, 500 and 2000 notes denomination in Mahatma Gandhi series since 2016 followed by note ban across the nation.
Now the new Rs 20 will be in the market to attract people and the old Rs 20 notes will also be used as usual. By March 2018, Rs 20 denomination worth Rs 1000 cr are in circulation and it was Rs 492 cr in March 31, 2016. It shares 9.8 per cent in total money being circulated.
