RCB defeat DD, stay alive in IPL

New Delhi: Skipper Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers kept Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) alive in this year’s VIVO IPL, as the two smashed 50 each to enable the RCB to beat Delhi Daredevils by five wickets at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium on Saturday.

Chasing 182, posted by the DD, the RCB reached the target in the 19th over with a De Villiers’ six.

De Villiers and Kohli took control when their team did not get a desired start as Openers Moeen Ali and Parthiv Patel did not trouble the scorers much and departed early.

With this win, the RCB is still at the seventh spot with eight points, but they are still alive in the tournament.

However, from now on, they would have to win each of their remaining three games to book a spot in the play-offs.
This was their fourth win in 11 games.

For the Daredevils, they had already reached a dead-end in the tournament. Today, they suffered their ninth defeat in 12 games and with six points in hand, the DD is at the bottom of the points table.
