Rebels problem increasing in Cong— Fate of Ponnala, Marri still undecided

Hyderabad: With the announcement of the second list of Congress party’s candidates on Wednesday, the problem of rebel candidates is increasing with each passing day. The second list released by the party high command comprises the names of leaders like TPCC chief spokesperson Dasoju Shravan (Khairatabad), Ramesh Rathod (Khanapur) Assembly constituency. This has angered the ticket hopefuls like Rohin Reddy and Hari Naik. While Rohin Reddy made his best efforts to secure the party ticket from the Khairatabad seat, Hari Naik tried hard to secure the ticket from Khanapur Assembly segment. The discontent Rohin reddy has now decided to rebel against the party high command and contest the elections as a rebel candidate. Reddy is the second congress leader , who has made up his mind to contest in the elections as a rebel candidate, after former MLA M Bikshapati Yadav, who has made up his mind to contest the elections as a rebel candidate.

On the other hand, several other leaders of the party are still clueless about their fate. Film Producer Bandla Ganesh, who has joined the Congress party recently, has sought Rajendranagar assembly seat from the party high command. Similarly, P. Karthik Reddy, son of former home minister of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh State Sabita Indira Reddy, has also sought the party ticket from the same seat. However, the party leadership did not announce the candidature of any of them, as it is said that the TDP is demanding the seat as part of the grand alliance seat sharing arrangements.

Veteran leaders of the party like former MLA Marrri Shashidhar reddy, son of the former CM of AP, Marri Channa reddy, who is planning to contest from his sanatnagar assembly Segment, and former TPCC president Ponnala Laxmaiah also did not get the tickets form their respective seats. It may be noted here that the ticket aspirant from Secunderabad Cantonment seat Krishank Manne has already announced that he would take on his uncle and former union minister Sarvey Satyanarayana, who has got the ticket from the seat, as a rebel candidate.
