Reinstall Ambedkar statue at Panjagutta junction: Sravan

Hyderabad: AICC secretary Dasoju Shravan on Saturday alleged that the State government has insulted architect of Constitution Dr BR Amedkar by destroying his statue and dumping it at Jawahar Nagar dump yard. He also alleged that the city police resorted to lathi-charge on the activists of Jai Bheem Society, which has made the idol and wanted to erect the same at Punjagutta circle.
Addressing the media, Shravan said the society members had made an application to the GHMC some 25 days back urging it to allow them to erect the 9-feet tall Ambedkar statue at the Punjagutta circle. He said the GHMC authorities did not take any action on the application made by the society for 25 days.
