Renuka slams her critics in party

Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader and former Union minister Renuka Choudary on Thursday launched a scathing attack against her detractors in the party. She alleged that injustice was meted out to her in the party. She, however, hastened to state that she would not leave the party.

Addressing mediapersons here today after holding a meeting with her supporters, Renuka Choudary said some pseudo leaders in the party were trying to demoralize the spirits of party workers by blaming her. She wanted to know as to who would take the responsibility for the party’s defeat in the recent Assembly elections. Commenting on the issue of a complaint lodged against her by three party MLAs with the party high command that she did not extend any help to them in the recent Assembly elections, Choudary claimed the MLAs would not have won the elections had she had not extended her support to them in the elections.

She demanded that the disciplinary committee of the party initiate action against her based on the complaints lodged by the MLAs. She alleged that the State party leaders were totally acting against what the party president Rahul Gandhi had asked them to do. Without taking the name TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, she said some party leaders had claimed that they would become the Chief Minister in the State. She also said she came out in open following reports that she would not get the Khammam MP ticket in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
