Retail inflation moves up to 2.57 pc in February

New Delhi: The annual retail inflation moved up in February to 2.57 percent from 1.97 percent in January, according to data released by the Central government on Tuesday.

It was 4.44 percent in February 2018, said an official statement released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.

The consumer price index for urban areas was 3.43 percent as compared to 4.52 percent in February 2018.
For the rural area, the CPI was 1.81 percent in February 2019 as compared to 4.45 percent in the same period of last year, said the statement.
