Noida: Shockingly a retired army colonel was arrested on Tuesday after he allegedly attempted to abduct a senior government official’s wife in Noida’s Sector 29.
According to police the colonel on failing to abduct the woman verbally abused with castiest slurs, Indian Express reported.
“Charges have been filed against Virender Chauhan (77) under various IPC and sections of the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act,” said SHO Manish Kumar Saxena of Sector 20 police station.
The victim lives with her husband who is a senior administrative official in UP government while the accused lives alone said CO City 1 Anit Kumar.
The police said this was not the first time the accused had passed sexual remarks on her.
The incident is repotedly to took place around 4.30 am when the victim was out with her two other friends. The accused tried to abduct her with three younger men who were all waiting for her to passby.
