Revanth claps his thighs to contest from Malkajgiri LS seat

Hyderabad: It’s official now! The firebrand leader of Congress party and TPCC working president A. Revanth Reddy will contest in the upcoming Parliament elections from Malkajgiri seat. The former MLA from Kodangal made an official announcement to this effect on Saturday. He said he was contesting the elections to fight against “feudal” Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in the State. He said he was contesting the elections by reposing faith in the people.

Addressing the media at former MLA and the party leader Koona Srisailam Goud’s residence, Revanth alleged that CM KCR had shown the world the taste of his feudalistic and autocratic rule. He said the CM was allowing the Opposition leaders into his party by treating his own party MLAs like bonded workers. He likened the upcoming elections as Kurukshetra war in the State. Claiming that both party MLAs Sudheer Reddy and Sabita Indra Reddy encouraged him to contest in the upcoming elections and assured him of their total support, Revanth Reddy said he thought of withdrawing from the electoral battle but changed his mind later to protect the democratic values in the State.

Commenting on Malkajgiri seat, he termed it as a mini-India. He urged the people of the constituency to think about what kind of leader they want and vote accordingly. He alleged that the TRS leaders have failed even to get a road in the Cantonment area.

Referring to the statement of TRS leader KTR “Sir Car” and 16 MP seats, Revanth said both “Sir and Car” were useless to the State. He asked the TRS leader as to who was their PM candidate while making it clear that the contest was between Congress and BJP in the country.

Party leader Koona Srisailam Goud welcomed the decision of the party to field Revanth Reddy from the seat. He said they were launching election campaigning from Quthbullapur. Noting that he wanted to contest from the seat, Goud said he had dropped the idea after the announcement of Revanth’s candidature from the Malakajgiri seat.
