Revanth files papers, takes out rally despite prohibitory orders

Hyderabad: The Vikarabad district police on Monday shocked TPCC Working President A. Revanth Reddy by not giving permission to hold a public rally for filing his nomination papers from his Kodangal Assembly constituency.

The police issued notices to Reddy and asked him not to hold any kind of rally to file his nomination papers. This has angered scores of supporters of Revanth Reddy and prompted them to hold agitation. They also made it clear that they would take out the rally at any cost irrespective of the fact weather they get permission for the same or not. The attitude of the supporters of Revanth Reddy has prompted the police to impose Section 144 of CRPC in the entire constituency.

Despite the imposition of the Section 144, Revanth Reddy held a huge rally. Speaking on the occasion, he alleged that Chief Minister KCR was going to spend Rs.1000 crore to defeat him in his constituency. Likening the fight between the Congress and rival TRS parties in his constituency to the ‘Kurukshetra’ battle, he said that the five mandals of his constituency were Pandavas and KCR and supporters were Kauravas–TRS party’s 100 candidates. He said that the people of his constituency would once again vote for him in the present Assembly elections.

Revanth Reddy field his nomination papers from his Kondangal Assembly segment. He reached the Returning Officer’s office after leading a huge rally consisting of thousands of his supporters. Thanking his supporters and followers, Revanth said that he had never saw such public support for him during the last assembly elections.

“ It’s a very emotional election for all the people of my assembly constituency. There were not even half of the followers, who are present here today , during the filing of my nomination papers in the last assembly elections. The people are determined to prove to the world that they will remain with me,” he said with an emotion in his voice. He promised that he would work for the welfare of his people till his last breath. He also claimed that he had fought at all levels to get funds to his assembly constituency. He told the people that they would play a key role in the coming government in the state.
