Revanth’s arrest meant to create fear-psychosis: Ramana

Hyderabad: Telangana TDP president L Ramana condemned the arrest of Reventh Reddy alleging that caretaker Chief Minister KCR was creating fear with his action in the voters.

Ramana, in a statement said, the action of KCR is nothing but an effort to suppress values of democracy. Police personnel gatecrashed into the bedroom of Revanth Reddy and took him into custody without any arrest warrant, he lamented. He also alleged that KCR action shows that he has mind set of a dictator and ordered arrest of Revanth Reddy, his brother and his followers in fear of defeat at the hustings. It was a black dot on democracy by arresting Opposition leader and addressing a public meeting by KCR, the TDP chief said and demanded unconditional release of Revanth Reddy.

In another statement, TDP politburo member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy questioned whether Reventh Reddy was an anti-social element to arrest him before the Chief Minister’s public meeting? The police action in arresting Revanth Reddy indicated that the police machinery was functioning in favour of the ruling party, Ravula alleged.
