Revanth’s petition adjourned to 20 December

Hyderabad: On Monday, the Telangana police on Monday told a division bench of the Hyderabad High Court that it took Congress leader A. Revanth Reddy into preventive detention on December 4.

K. Annapurna, Vikarabad Superintendent of Police in an affidavit filed before the bench comprising Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan and Justice M. Satyanarayana Murthy stated that Mr. Reddy declined to withdraw his call to disrupt CM K.Chandrasekhar Rao’s meeting in Kodangal. There was no option but to detain him, she added.

The bench instructed the Advocate General to file a counter affidavit by 12th December.

The senior counsel CV Mohan Reddy representing Revanth Reddy sought time for the court to draft his reply for the counter filed by the Telangana government.

The hearing has been adjourned to December 20.
