Hyderabad: Mr. Rajat Kumar, Chief Electoral Officer told that the voters’ list is being revised and the citizens can get their names entered in it.
He also told that as part of awareness programme, booth level officers are sending messages to every house. Postcard campaign has also been launched. For this purpose, message will be sent to 1 crore 40 lakh households.
The final list of voters will be released on 22nd February. He appealed to the people to cooperate with EC officials.
He informed that 7 lakh 40 thousand names were deleted in Medchal District. It was done in 2015. Many person had shifted their residences and hence their names were deleted.
He admitted that action has been taken against erring officers.
He dismissed the apprehensions about tampering in EVMs.
He told that a massive campaign would be organized on 20th February for creating awareness among the people.
