Revision of voters’ list ends next month

Hyderabad: The campaign for the revision of voters’ list will come to an end by next month. Attempts are being made to make it compatible with the latest demands of the time so that geotagging could be made possible. GHMC is making an attempt to tag 41, 32000 voters under this program. So far, 45% work has been completed. Every day, 70000 voters are being checked. Attempts are being made to consolidate the names of all the members of a family.

Mr. Bhanwar Lal, IAS, Chief Election Officer of Telangana and AP informed that the process of geotagging is in progress in both the states. After its completion, the draft voters’ list would be published and it would be placed before the public for inspection and also report any discrepancies, complaints or amendments. After finalizing the objections, final list would be published.

It is reported that geotagging has been adopted on the instructions from Election Commission of India to cover the increase in the percentage of voting.
