Rex Tillerson snubs Ivanka Trump’s visit to GES

Washington: The United States Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, does not support Ivanka Trump’s upcoming visit to India for Global Entrepreneurship Summit, and will not be sending a senior delegate, higher than a rank of deputy assistant secretary, with her to India.

Ivanka, who is an advisor to Trump, has been invited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the annual GES.

According to an official who spoke with the CNN, Tillerson and his staff are not sending a higher official with her “because they don’t want to bolster Ivanka.”

“It’s now another rift between the White House and State at a time when Rex Tillerson doesn’t need any more problems with the President,” the official added.

Tillerson and President Trump are being in a tensed relationship, since, the former Exxon exec reportedly called Trump a “moron” and insisted he wasn’t “going to deal with petty stuff like that” when asked to comment.
