Rich tributes paid to Mirza Ghalib

New Delhi: On the occasion of the 150th death anniversary of Mirza Ghalib, Ghalib Institute and Ministry of Culture, Govt of India hosted a programme at the shrine of Mirza Ghalib. All the Urdu institutions of Delhi, print and electronic media attended the programme and remembered the icon of Urdu.

Editor of Roznama Rashtriya Sahara Syed Nafees Hasan Abidi, Chairman World Urdu Trust A Rahman, secretary Ghalib Institute Prof Siddiqur Rahman Khidwai, Prof Shameem Hanfi, director Ghalib Institute Dr Syed Raza Hyder, Director National Council for the Promotion of Urdu Language Shaikh Mohammed Aqueel, Secretary Anjuman Taraqqi Urdu Hind Dr Athar Farooqui, Shoaib Raza Khan, Prof Khaja Mohammed Ikramuddin, journalists Shakeel Hasan Shamsi, Prof Khalid Mahmood and others addressed on the occasion.

The speakers paid rich tributes to the legendary Urdu and Persian poet Mirza Ghalib whose verses are not only recited in Urdu but have now transcended borders and languages.
