‘Roads are in bad shape,’ KTR in a programme

Hyderabad: Acknowledging the bad condition of roads, K.T. Rama Rao, minister for information technology, during a programme on Tuesday, said he was aware of the condition of roads. He also assured that the government is working towards it.

The programme was attended by industry bigwigs, including Intel chief Nivruti Rai, who said that Hyderabad’s roads are beautiful, as she experienced during her drive from the airport to the venue.

However, KTR humorously said that some sections of the audience were looking at each other in disbelief after Ms Rai praised Hyderabad’s roads. He said the rains over the last 10 days have left the roads in a miserable condition, and he also offered Rai to visit the bad roads with him, reported Deccan Chronicle.

“I know that I am not the most popular person in Hyderabad at the moment. I am not going to beat around the bush, but admit that we have to improve our infrastructure. We have a long way to go. But please bear with me. We are trying and we are trying our best. We will work to get the roads better,” he said.

He said his son was among those stuck in traffic on Monday night and had given him an earful!
