Robin Wright to be honoured at Marrakech Film Festival

Washington: American actress Robin Wright will be bestowed with the Gold Star career honour at the 17th edition of the Marrakech Film Festival.

Set to run from November 30 to December 8, the fest will recognise her film and television work, including ‘The Princess Bride’ and ‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ and her efforts for charitable organisations in the Congo, confirmed The Hollywood Reporter.

“I’m thrilled to be visiting the country of Morocco and grateful to be given this opportunity to experience the Moroccan culture,” said the actress.

With a rich film career, Wright has alternated between major productions and significant roles in independent movies like ‘Forrest Gump’, ‘Crossing Guard’, ‘She’s so lovely’, ‘Unbreakable’ among others.

In 2013, her career took off again with TV series ‘House of Cards’, in which she portrayed the role of Claire Underwood, one of the most striking female characters in the world of contemporary series.

In the final season of ‘House of Cards’, which drops on November 6 on Netflix, she will play the role of the president.
