Rohingya Muslims: Sheikh Hasina didn’t ask Donald Trump for help – Here’s the reason

Dhaka: Bangladesh Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina directed the local government to make sure the sick and wounded Rohingya are well taken care of in the hospitals and they receive immediate medical attention. Deeply moved by the plight of refugees during her visit to the Kutupalong Refugee Camp in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar, the premier asserted “We have the ability to feed 160 million people of Bangladesh and we have enough food security to feed the 700,000 Rohingya refugees.”

Talking about taking help from US President, Donald Trump, she said that as he did not make any comment when she disclosed the problem of Rohingya refugees, she can not ask him for help.

She further said that Mr. Trump does not feel that Rohingya Muslims are distressed, need assistance. “Bangladesh is not a rich country but we can feed Rohingya refugees”, she added.

It may be noted that Ms. Hasina met Mr. Trump at the UN General Assembly. When Mr. Trump asked “How is Bangladesh?”, she replied, “Bangladesh is doing very well but the only problem that we have is the refugees from Myanmar”. Listening to this, Mr. Trump did not make any comment.
