Rohtak gang-rape case: Victim’s kin blames police of trying to save accused

Rohtak, (Haryana): The kin of Rohtak gangrape case victim on Tuesday alleged that the police is trying to save the main accused.

The family said that the police instead of helping them is trying to complicate the case and turn it in favour of the culprits.

“When we came to know about it through papers, I asked my sister and she has denied the claims. The police is trying to complicate the case and is trying to save the main accused. I trust my sister, we have got her call details checked, she will never do anything of this sort. The police since the beginning was not cooperating with us they way it should. And is collecting evidences in the favour of the accused. This is an endeavour to keep us away from justice,” said the brother of the victim

“All this is false, my daughter did not go to any hotel and neither she know any of those two men. My daughter does not know anybody. The police is not helping us. It’s been so many days but the police has not come out with any conclusion. My daughter has assured me that she has not gone anywhere. These stories are fabricate,” said the mother of the victim.

The Rohtak Police last week formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the alleged gang-rape of a BSC (Honours) student of Government College for Women here.

The SIT was constituted after Additional Director General of Police (ADGP-Law & Order) Muhammad Akil met the victim and her family at Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) here and assured them of an impartial probe.

The Dalit girl, who was allegedly gangraped three years ago in Bhiwani by five men, had alleged that she was kidnapped and raped again by the same men in Rohtak on Wednesday last when she was returning home from college.

Based on her complaint, police registered an FIR against Amit, Jagmohan, Mausam, Sandeep and Akash. While Amit and Jagmohan joined the investigation on Monday, families of Mausam and Sandeep approached the police with the evidence. (ANI)
