Washington: Dennis Quaid has been roped in to play late Republican President Ronald Reagan.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the shooting is expected to begin around October.
The film would focus on Reagan’s life from his early years to his presidential days.
David Henrie, known for his role as Justin Russo in ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ will play Reagan as a young man, while Quaid would play Reagan in his later years.
The film would also explore Raegan’s role in the destruction of the Berlin Wall, his tenure as the Governor of California, the assassination attempt, and Alzheimer’s taking over him in his final years.
Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight also stars in the film, to be helmed by Sean McNamara of ‘The Miracle Season’ fame.
The film is expected to release in the summer of 2019.
Currently, Quaid is wrapping up the second season of Fortitude, a psychological thriller on Amazon.
