Two persons were nabbed by the city task force sleuths near Apollo Hospitals at Jubilee Hills today while they were trying to exchange demonetized Rs 1000 and Rs 500 currency notes worth Rs 1.34 crore with valid currency on 10% commission basis.
On a tip-off, the Central Zone sleuths arrested Allada Jaya Kumar of Guntur and Gundu Narasimha Mudiraj of Film Nagar.
The accused and the banned currency notes were handed over to the Banjara Hills Police Station. The sleuths also seized a Maruti Swift and a cell phone from their possession.
The arrests were made under the supervision of Addl DCP C Shashidhar Raju and others. (NSS)
