Hyderabad: Telangana government has sanctioned Ramadan gift for Imams and muezzins of Makkah Masjid and Shahi Masjid. Rs 1 lakh was sanctioned for Makkah Masjid while Rs. 50000 was sanctioned for Shahi Masjid.
Earlier Imams were presented Rs 3000 while the muezzins were presented Rs. 1000 on the occasion of Ramadan, however superintendent of the Makkah Masjid recommended for at least one month salary as the Ramadan gift on which Rs 1.5 lakh was sanctioned.
Superintendent has also recommended for one month salary as Ramadan gift to other employees of the Makkah Masjid as well. Government is likely to give sympathetic consideration to the request.
