Rs 2000 cr for Yadava, Kuruma welfare: Talasani

Minister for Cinematography and Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav today announced that the TRS Government will spend about Rs 2000 cr for empowering Golla and Kuruma communities by giving 80 lakh sheep units to 4 lakh families across the state. Each family will get 20 plus one sheep and a total of 80 lakhs of sheep will be distributed among them for which a team of officials is making visits to various states.

The minister was addressing a state level meeting of Yadava and Kuruma associations after they thanked the government for its gesture. Extending thanks the association leaders poured milk on the photograph of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for agreeing to give 75 per cent of subsidy on the amounts of loan to be offered for sheep units. Speaking on the occasion the minister said that the government will conduct Sadar Utsav at Narayanaguda in a big way next year. The previous Congress government neglected Yadava and Kuruma communities and offered only 25 per cent of subsidy for similar units. However, KCR is keen to empower the two communities who can get the benefit he said.

A state level program to unite these two communities with 10 lakh people will be conducted at Nizam College grounds. In the name of government schemes and steps being taken for yadava welfare, a “Yadav Sankharavam” will be conducted at Asifabad on Feb 12 by former MLC A Nageshwara Rao to unite them he said adding that district level meetings will also be conducted. Stating that NCDC gave us Rs 400 cr towards welfare of these communities he said that KCR asked to make efforts to get Rs 3000 cr from the Centre.  (NSS)
