RSS’ letter indicating BJP’s defeat in MP goes viral; party claims it is fake

Bhopal: A letter issued by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has gone viral on social media in the context of Madhya Pradesh assembly elections.

The letter in question is addressed to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) state President Rakesh Singh and is written on the RSS letterhead. The letter states that it is difficult for BJP to regain power in the state and this time Congress is heading towards power. The letter referred to a secret survey done during November 5 to 20, 2018. The letter further indicated that Congress can win more than 140 seats in MP, while BJP can win only 68 seats.

However, RSS says the letter is fake. UNI has quoted Vikas Samvad Kendra as stating ‘The RSS never conducts a survey of the nature mentioned in the letter and there is no post vis-à-vis survey and public opinion in the Sangh’s hierarchy. Mischievous elements committed this act with a view to deriving political mileage by creating an atmosphere of confusion in society. Such an attempt can be perpetrated only by those who do not repose confidence in the public’.
