Rumours ‘incorrect’ not deploying Russian Troops says Turkey

Turkey: Declining media claims of Turkey deploying Russian troops in the country, spokesperson of Presidency has cleared the rumors describing the reports as “incorrect”.

Turkey has recently acquired Russia’s S-400 missile air defence systems and rumours are Turkey will deploy Russian troops in the coming period.

Ibrahim Kalin, spokesman for the presidency said in a press conference held in Ankara at the presidential complex that the purchase of the Russian made S-400 missile air defence systems “does not mean the deployment of Russian troops in Turkey”.

He further said deployment of the “S-400 missile defence system inside Turkey “will be preceded by training courses” and that the technicians from the two countries “will exchange visits in this regard,” Middle East Monitor reported.
