Hyderabad: Seva Bharathi Telangana will be organizing 2nd edition of “Run for a Girl Child” On January 7 at Gachibowli Stadium to promote awareness on Girl Child Education.
In a press release today, Raghunath Veerabelly, general secretary said, “The run is aimed at spreading awareness”. He stressed the need for more Slum’s Kishori Vikas Centers to the existing centers. “These centers empower Girl Children residing in Slums and Low Income areas by helping them in their Education, Health and Skill Development”, he added.
The Run will start at 7am from Gachibowli Stadium. 5K, 10k, 21k route will be in and around Gachibowli stadium, he added. Corporates like Capgemini, Genpact, GGK Technologies, Care Hospitals, Magma Finance, Value Momentum and many IT companies are participating. Besides, many families from gated communities are also supporting the event. Over 400 beneficiaries of Kishori Vikas Program from Slums and low-income areas of Greater Hyderabad will join the event and over 5,000 participants will support ‘Run for Girl Child’ campaigning”, he added.
