Russian beauty queen reverts to Islam to become Queen of Malaysia

Moscow: Malaysia’s King Muhammad V of Kelantan married a former Miss Moscow after she converted to Islam. The new “Queen of Malaysia”, Oksana Voevodina, 25, She is 24 years younger to her new husband.

King Muhammad V has been on the throne since 2016. The marriage was performed at a lavish royal ceremony in Moscow. While the king was dressed in Malaysian national dress, the bride wore a white wedding gown.

Alcohol-free drinks and halal food were served at the reception. Voevodina is the daughter of Andrey Gorbatenko, an orthopaedic surgeon from Rostov-on-Don in southern Russia. She won the title of Miss Moscow in 2015.
