Ryan murder: This post of Renuka Shahane on ‘grades’ is a must for every parent

MUMBAI: Actress Renuka Shahane, who is known to be quite vocal about her thoughts has expressed her views about death of seven-year-old Pradyuman Thakur.

In a shocking twist, the Central Bureau Of Investigation  on Wednesday arrested a Class 11 student of Gurgaon’s Ryan International School for murdering Pradyuman.

The 16-year-old student, in presence of his father, independent witness admitted his involvement in committing the murder of a Class 2 student, on September 8.

The ‘Hum Aapke Hai Koun’ actress took to Facebook to pen her thoughts stating, “The rich parents, the management of the school & the Gurugram police who did such a shoddy job, didn’t mind making a scapegoat of an innocent man whose only crime was his poverty.”

This is her Facebook post.

‘I’m sure all of you must have heard who the real culprit is in the Pradyuman murder case. The CBI has taken into custody an 11th grader who allegedly thought nothing of slitting the throat of an innocent 7 year old school boy just so that the school will have to declare a holiday, exams won’t be held & ptm won’t follow soon after. It sickens me how violence is considered cool these days & in the run for grades we’ve left humanity far behind. The rich parents, the management of the school & the Gurugram police who did such a shoddy job, didn’t mind making a scapegoat of an innocent man whose only crime was his poverty. It’s time “International Schools” wake up & start actually educating their pupils. And somewhere I hope somebody is teaching the rich that not everything can be bought with money; definitely not good values & definitely not a good education. There are no short cuts in life & no expressway has milestones! RIP Pradyuman 😢

According to the agency, the Class 11 student, believed to be weak in his studies, allegedly slit Pradyuman’s throat to get the school to declare a holiday in order to defer a scheduled parent-teacher meeting (PTM) and an examination.

Based on CCTV footage and crime scene analysis, the agency examined all potential suspects and witnesses. The list included 125 teachers and students, sources said.
