Bareilly: Saffron bags were distributed at Bareilly College, which sparked row in the college. Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Samajwadi Party students had a scuffle over the issue. Students of both the groups protested outside the principal’s office. While the Samajwadis protested against the distribution of saffron bags ABVP was supporting the distribution of these bags. Police were called to control the situation.
The said bags were distributed to students who applied for the self-finance course. The students told that the colour of the bags which were distributed was changed from the previous blue to saffron. They alleged politicization of the institution.
Ajay Sharma, the Principal of the college has to say that they can distribute the bags only which the agency has manufactured.
