Saif al-Islam, son of Muammar Gaddafi ready to run for upcoming presidential elections

Tripoli: Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, the son of the former Libyan president Muammar Gaddafi is likely to be the presidential candidate during the elections to be held current year.

Spokesman of Popular Front Party Aiman Abu Ras said that Saiful Islam will represent their party in the elections. He announced this in a press conference in the neighbouring country Tunisia. According to local leader, Saif will work for country’s reconstruction.

Gaddafi has 7 sons. Saif who passed out from British University London Schools of Economics is considered the heir of Muammar Gaddafi. Though he was not on any official post during his father’s rule, but he is considered the second powerful personality of the country. 45-year-old Saiful Islam enjoys the support of major tribes in Libya. Saif al-Islam plans to impose more security and stability in accordance with the Libyan geography and in coordination with all Libyan factions.
